Chiropractic Marketing - Website Traffic Tips That Work

Author: Matthew Loop

Far too many times chiropractors purchase expensive websites that are filled with empty promises. They are led to believe that just because they have a professional looking website, that will flood their office with new patients. Of course, this never turns out like expected. Why, you may ask? Well, simply because the number one thing that every chiropractic website needs is traffic / visitors.

If you don't know how to generate massive and consistent amounts of traffic to your page, nobody will know about you or the service you provide. In the next few paragraphs I'm going to be revealing some incredible, time-tested strategies to get tons of visitors to your website each and every day.

The first proven method of traffic generation that I like to use is articles. Writing your own articles or having someone else write them for you can be very beneficial for your chiropractic website. Article marketing has been around for a long time and has always worked well. People can discover your content easily on the web and you are looked at as an author. This gives you instant credibility with those that come into contact with the articles that are tagged with your name.

Secondly, I prefer to use forums and blogs. Posting comments in relevant and specific forums and blogs will definitely get you targeted visitors to your chiropractic website. This is a good way to build yourself as a problem solver and establish a solid reputation within your community or niche. Google now has a very simple function on their search to find blogs by the keywords that you enter. Doing this for 15-20 minutes daily can get you out there in little time.

Social networking (or social marketing) is next on our list. This form of Web 2.0 social media marketing can produce boatloads of traffic and gain you rapid exposure. Using websites like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Myspace to connect with those in your community and build rapport is largely an untapped market for chiropractors. Every time you send a friend request to someone, they get to see your page and ultimately read about who you are and what you do. It's the perfect medium for, well, being social!

Fourth, is pay-per-click (PPC) advertising through Google, Yahoo, or other networks. This is a sure way to get specific traffic to your chiropractic website. The upside is that the traffic is basically immediate. You don't have to wait for search engine optimization campaigns to kick-in. The downside, of course, is that you can spend in excess of a few dollars per click.

Last, and certainly not least, is video marketing. Video is the most powerful tool on the planet for connecting with your target audience or community. In 2009, video will be absolutely essential to incorporate for chiropractic marketing with your website. People are able to get to know you without ever meeting you in person. You really cannot put a price tag on this type of exposure. As we know already, many people are lazy and would rather watch a video than actually read text from a page. That's why YouTube has shot-up to be the 3rd most popular and most visited website in the world.

Hopefully, you've received a ton of value as I've tried to give you a few proven tactics and strategies to generate huge amounts of highly-targeted traffic to your chiropractic website. Don't rely on your webmaster or company you purchased your website from to get you the visitors and new patients you need. Implement these insider tips today and your chiropractic practice will start to grow with this calculated internet marketing blueprint.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
Any ideas or websites for chiropractic related things you can do on your own?
Just looking to try some small things that a chiropractic would do without hurting myself...

    • ANSWER:
Don't do it! Even professional chiropractors don't work on themselves. It is very dangerous.

  2. QUESTION:
Anyone know how to find low cost chiropractic care?
I am done with orthopods and physical therapists who just tell me to do more stretching or that I should get cortisone shots for my lower back. I am in the Denver area and need to find someone compitent that can work with my financial constraints. Are their websites that help with finding someone?

    • ANSWER:
find a chiropractor who doesn't charge for exam or x-rays (should be very easy to find) when you go in tell them that money is an issue, unlike most medical doctor's office~ most chiropractors will reduce there fees and work with you. In my office its called a weekly payment plan~ they pay dollars and that covers them for the whole weeks worth of care.

  3. QUESTION:
Crusade Specific Chiropractic in Sacramento, CA?
I have my first chiropractic appointment for my spine tomorrow, and I am going to Crusade Specific Chiropractic in Sacramento.

    Any one heard of it?
    Any good reviews?
Do they help with the spine?
    Are they any good?

Thanks, also, if you know of any websites that people give reviews to these chiropractic places, that would be wonderful. I haven't found any yet.

    Thank you so much!

    • ANSWER:
      no sorry

  4. QUESTION:
does anyone know what the latest technologies in massage/physical/chiropractic therapy are?
i'm working on a group project and we're having a hard time finding the latest technologies in these fields. does anyone know of any new technologies or websites that will lead to these things? thanks!

    • ANSWER:
Some of them are not necessarily new, but more research is being done to validate or refine the techniques.

I am assuming you are looking for stuff related to back care...

In PT, look into mechanical diagnosis and therapy...while not new, the research has become more and more compelling. Go to http://www.mckenziemdt.org You will also find an extensive literature review.

In chiropractice care, the laterst "buzz" is "spinal decompression"...google "DRX9000" or "VAX-D" Be careful when you interpret the literature however. The most commonly quoted article is by Goines, et al. They claim a 90% success rate...yet, it you read the break down...the 90% primarily occurs in people who have no underlying degeneration and only have a one level disc protrusion (a group that is very likely to spontaneously recover anyway). Once you look at multiple level problems and with the presense of disc degeneration, the success rate steeply declines and really isn't any more successful than other treatments.

If you want a REALLY good read that reviews a multitude of reserach and really ANALYZES it, I recommend a book by Dr. Ron Donnellson titled "Rapidly Reversible Low Back Pain." Probably difficult to find at the library (because it's new)...but available at http://www.optp.com or amazon.com

P.S...I cannot think of any significat GOOD scientific literature on massage therapy...sorry I can't help you there. But I am sure there are "new" techniques out there.

      Good luck

  5. QUESTION:
    Chiropractic College Question...?
I have recently decided to apply to Chiropractic college...I am 30 yrs old with a degree in Philosophy and have just begun to take my pre-req science courses.

I have read on a few websites that some schools are very very difficult, almost impossible to get through. I realize the sciences are very difficult and am prepared to do my best. However, are there some schools that are more reasonable to complete than others?

Can anyone offer any insight on this?

    • ANSWER:
Perhaps I have a little insight, I graduated top of my class at Northwestern Chiropractic College in MN. Most schools have some sort of reputation. Some good, some not so good. The "joke schools" are Sherman and Life. Stay away from those they are the ones that the students have the worst time passing the 4 parts of the chiropractic boards because they do not learn anything. Other schools are more demanding like the one I graduated from and Western States in OR. Both those schools are very similar and have a very high percentage of first pass on the boards. Also they produce some very competent doctors as a result. Palmer is a good school and is very popular. For the money it costs today to complete the pre-reqs and the entire program you should seek out the best education. Yes it is hard, I have spent many 12 hour days studying but in the long run it is worth it. Good luck.

  2. I believe that websites such as Facebook, and Myspace could be very bad to underage kids if they are used in and outside of schools without any restrictions. But if the administrators of these websites closely control for what purpose their websites are being used for, then they could be very helpful in creating a special place where students can share their ideas with each other.

It makes me wonder whether the flash sales websites are actively marketing through these blogs. Or do these posts just reflect on the kind of people who I'd imagine would be hooked on to flash sales websites – people with a slightly more than average obsession with fashion and shopping.
